Automation Training Program

Through our advanced apprenticeship program, we take employees who show potential and help them develop key skills through mentoring. This highly effective automation training system prepares them in all areas, including build, engineering and design, controls and programming, CNC machining, fabrication, electrical, and IT support.

When developing skill sets within the organization, we find that some employees show interest in multiple departments. Cross training has been implemented to allow employees to work in multiple departments as workloads transition throughout the organization. Not only does this provide KIMASTLE employees with the skills to accomplish tasks, but also the knowledge to understand how to improve their main position within the organization.

Developing a cooperative and respectful environment among departments gives KIMASTLE the synergy that is necessary to meet customers’ expectations and deliver results on time. The goal is simple: identify the problem as a team, find the solution, learn and record for future advancement.

Our family-oriented culture is another factor that sets us apart. Everyone feels like they’re part of the KIMASTLE team and takes great pride in their time spent at work and with their families. Our leaders have a reputation for developing leaders — employees who are self-motivated and goal-oriented. This atmosphere is reflected in the quality of the machines we produce.

The
Beginning

Our
History

KIMASTLE was founded in the early 1980s by a young man who wished to build a company with his family that would support the automotive industry. The vision this young entrepreneur wished to share with the world would start off in a 500 sq. ft. facility in his small hometown of New Baltimore, Michigan. With a background in the model, fixture, and assembly industries, specializing in automation equipment, Kirk Edward Gilewski would pursue his dream finding KIMASTLE’s first opportunities in the fuel line industry. In the beginning KIMASTLE would take on small accelerated projects with short lead times that many of its larger competition couldn’t capitalize on. A combination of creativity, low overhead, and a focus on the engineering and design of its automation would forge KIMASTLE to become one of the leading specialty machine and automation companies in the automotive industry.

Growth in the ’90s and KIMASTLE’s established customer relationships would motivate KIMASTLE to find its new home in Chesterfield, Michigan. Consistently investing in new equipment, technology, facilities, and, most importantly, the development of a strong team would allow KIMASTLE to provide its customers with the reassurance and dependability they would need to find confidence in the future. KIMASTLE was finding success and rapidly growing. KIMASTLE is a family; our continued support of one another allows us to focus on the support of our customers.

The name KIMASTLE derives from the first two letters of “Kirk, Mark, Steve, and Les,” the four brothers who grew up together and did nothing but support one another. The family dynamic ensured the growing success of the company. Due to the rapid growth, KIMASTLE wished to provide its newfound family with job security and support. This culture provides clarity to the importance of developing new technology and delivering innovative solutions. The family has grown from a team of five to currently over one hundred throughout the past 30 years. Today, KIMASTLE is proud to say they have made it through several downturns in the automotive industry and will continue to ensure its customers that the company they invested in in the past will be the automation company of the future.

In the words of Kirk Edward Gilewski to the youth of the world: “Follow your dreams.” “Failure is the absence of willingness to attempt the achievement of happiness.”

KIMASTLE: Making visions become reality since 1982.
